Gillian liked Ruth's "Skeleton against a silky sea". She thought it a very tranquil scene.
Ruth herself chose her soft figure of a man walking downhill with the hard tower behind him - Fragile and Strong.
SG
Some members took up the option of illustrating their opposites in two pictures. This is an example. Neil chose this picture in its own right because he thought the colours so beautiful and the picture so sharp. But this is "Closed in shade..."
and "...Open in sunshine
ND SD
Both Irene and Neil chose Neil's family of geese, illistrating young and old. An attractive picture and nicely balanced.
Fiona chose Sonia's Rough and Smooth. This was actually taken during the outing for the contrast between the smooth drainpipe and the rough walls. Fiona felt the lines on the stonework led the eye into the picture.
SW
Sue took a picture of two elephants - one hard (wooden) and one soft (cuddly)
Athol chose Sue's shoes - of opposite style and colour. He commented that, if the picture were to be rotated through 90 degrees, so that the white shoe was vertical, it would make an even more stunning shot with commercial potential.
