Here are two samples from Carina's set of pictures taken using her rolling road for her model locomotives, showing her Jubilee class engine travelling at about 15 mph. Changing the settings on the camera changes the appearance of the moving parts.

Bob found the resulting set of pictures fascinating and unusual.

Bob's experiment with dropping something into a glass of water was admired by Frances, who thought it an excellent picture. Bob too was pleased with the result.

Both Fiona and Marthe liked Fiona's picture of turbulent water. Fiona liked the way the light was caught while Marthe liked the power of the water and the reflections.

Carina liked the spreading ripples in Marthe's puddle picture

Marthe attempted the panning technique here and said it was her most successful effort

Anne chose this shot from Martin, saying it was a picture in three parts - the reflections plus the branches in the water and the background adding to the central focus. A balanced picture with a narrative.
photography
Martin was pleased that he had captured the blurred effect of the train with the background sharp.

We were pleased to welcome new member Mary to our meeting. She chose her "Red Shank stepping out", particularly because it had been a difficult shot to take.

Martin particularly liked her "Unknown bounder" taken in Musselburgh. He thought it expressed motion very well. The dog moving at high speed, the spray, the rippled reflection - the waves are moving too.
