From wednesday's group, Maryanne chose Sonia's mill wheel in sepia

From Thursday's group, Sue chose this picture of daffodils with a point of colour. The effect was created in Photoshop Elements by carefully selecting the flower head and then converting the remainder of the picture to black and white.

Sonia's own choice was in fact an accident. Having set the shot up with a plant in a white container on a white table against a white wall, the sun suddenly came out, over-exposing the picture. Sonia thought the effect ethereal.

Sue and Joe were in agreement about Sue's river reflections. Joe thought everything about this picture worked.

Marjorie chose Athol's shot of people sitting on the cathedral steps, which she thought had a 1950s look. An interesting picturethat looks good in black and white. Athol said of this one that he liked the triangular shape and the fact that there was a lot of detail.

Athol chose his own conversion from colour of a picture of a candle which he thought worked well in both colour and black and white.
