Many of the pictures were taken on macro settings / using macro lenses. We found small tripods useful and some people got muddy kneeling on the damp earth! We found lichen remarkably difficult to focus on.

Sonia: lichen was easier to photograph on the ground. Used a gorilla tripod and a 2 second timer to avoid shaking the camera.
