The pile of wood (in the Fruit market gallery) is by the Turner prize winner in 2001, Martin Creed. He is interested in repetition.
Controversy was caused by Martin Creed's work, The Lights Going On and Off, which was an empty room with the lights going on and off. You may remember how Artist Jacqueline Crofton threw eggs at the walls of the room containing Creed's work as a protest.
