Our February topic was animals. Not everyone was enthusiastic about this subject at first, but the results were excellent. Extending the topic to include birds and insects helped.

Patience rewarded - Ann had to wait some time to get just the shot she wanted, with the baby birds open-mouthed. We thought this picture could have been cropped to a panorama shape.
And again, perfect timing, the dog being caught with all 4 feet off the ground.

Athol: wonderful image taken in the garden, with a bridge camera, high shutter speed and fairly high ISO (800, to enable the high shutter speed)
Another immaculate shot, with every detail sharp

Athol: Foxes are often difficult to photograph as they don't keep still long enough
Bob took himself to Craiglockhart Pond to photograph the birds. The pond was icy, the weather was clear and the pictures were beautiful. This is a classic swan pose.

Bob: another classic swan. We loved the movement in the water and the light catching on the ripples
The relections of the gulls flying round, as well as the swans' own reflections, add to this shot.

A bee theme for Frances here. These pictures were taken in macro mode.
This one is in soft focus
